Embracing conservation as a “Utah Water Way” of life
Established through HB 307 (2023 GS), Utah Water Ways is a 501(c)(3) public-private partnership dedicated to coordinating efforts within Utah to optimize the use of the state’s water resources.
We are dedicated to promoting the proper use of water and educating citizens and businesses alike about efficient water use in the state, in an effort to meet the State’s water conservation goals.
Utah’s water systems are vast and inextricably linked one with another. Ensuring proper management of our water requires robust communication between government administrators, industry leaders, and Utah’s water users.
Our Purpose
We have a direct charge by the Legislature to:
1. Facilitate coordination of efforts to optimize the use of water by:
- Sponsoring policy discussions about the state’s water supply
- Engaging the private sector to help support efforts to optimize the use of water
- Maintaining communication among partners in the partnership
- Providing a line of communication from partners to state leaders
- Promoting coordination of water conservation grants, rebate programs, or sponsorships
2. Encourage residents of the state to make changes to optimize the use of water and care for the state's water supply by:
- Providing public education and public awareness campaigns and helping consolidate campaigns about the state’s water supply, water quality, and water use
- Providing residents of the state with tools to understand what can be done to optimize the use of water
Vision
Utah Water Ways envisions a water efficient future providing for sustainable water resources, economic strength and environmental and community well-being.
